Self help resources for depression
Mental Health Foundation
The MHF produces a booklet for use with children and young people up to the age of 18. Called "Whatever Life Brings", it outlines for parents and carers the things that keep children and young people in good mental health and suggests what can help when children are troubled. It describes the mental health problems that can affect children and young people and outlines the help that is available.

DoH
The Department of Health has produced a booklet for patients about to be treated with CBT. Called “Cognitive and behavioural therapy (CBT) for people with depression and anxiety: what skills can service users expect their therapists to have?”, it is available for download in PDF format (click here).
